    In either case, I don't see anything useful coming from it expanded or not. Why would it matter if it auto expands or doesn't? You get the same thing in either case. Just curious what all the attention to this is all about? Did I miss something about "how" m$ planned to use this?

    Hi there
    @f14tomcat

    Thanks for the info -- really appreciate the data -- I'll have a go later. I assume also that you can skip the actual name of the CPU and just apply your fix as above.

    I still have a problem though on a "Physical Machine" the latest skippy won't install VMWare workstation if you do a clean install -- it's OK on an update from standard Windows release -- I use UUPDUMP to do the updates.

    Does the VM after the fix also handle USB 3 attachmments -- see if you add a USB 3 external HDD to the VM whether it hangs or not.

    These Forums are great when people can test all sorts of things that other members have problems with -- appreciate your efforts. Being now essentially a 3 day a week worker I have a bit more time but usually travelling Mondays and Thur evenings between Iceland and Belgium for a decent long term contract (Iceland fortunately is in EEA so not effected by "Brexit" !!"! ) so I'm not always available on Mondays for testing.

    Cheers

    Another classic feature dumbed down and no way to disable it...

    I'll check the USB when I have a moment, gotta go do chores. Far as the clean install, see if what Kari posted for me would do anything for you. You'll need a flat-head and Phillips screwdriver, 1 5# maul, hacksaw, duct tape, hydraulic jack, and a small bottle of Gorilla Glue.

    It all started with this post, Smactilactus:

    Edwin and I responded and things went on from there. I think we're all in agreement that it's kinda useless.

    Yup!

    Maybe if the uglier than homemade sin white wire icons looked a little more real, you wouldn't have to open the left side for a description!

    If the average driver can surmise that the rectangle and arm icon on their dashboard represents the rear windshield wiper...

    ...then, I'm sure an average PC user could figure out, in short order, that the folder icon represents File Explorer!

    Any ideas?

    To clarify, when I am saying "always very slow", I mean the feature / Insider build upgrades are slow. In normal use, my virtual machines are quite fast, nothing to complain.

    On the last 18348.1 19h1 update on my Laptop It took 4 trys of getting ready/downloading before it finally worked. Kept looping until it worked. 1st time this has happened to me.

    When Microsoft gets ready? It's not going to be until sometime around April/May 2020 at least, since it's 20H1.
