I'm sure that Edge is a fine browser, in it's own right, although, I rarely test it anymore...

I just find that most browsers lack the ability to customize the UI and functionalities without having to hack some code or dicker with some config or flag settings...

example of a custom function with my browser of choice:

Middle-click an empty space anywhere on the Header/Tab Bar, which opens a New Tab with a custom URL of my choice and immediately enter or speak my query...

    @Kari

I've now reset ALL my Edge Browser instances. Seems my bookmarks sync very well after all.

Silly me, I missed the "skip ahead" bit of the title, that's why I'm still on 18334.

Just to end this conversation:I am a very happy Edge user...As they say, your mileage may vary...Last but not least: maybe the fact that I have given Edge a chance, having used it as my main browser over four years now, maybe that affects my opinion. I have not only tested it for 20 minutes, then posted about how bad it is and forgotten it, never to test it again. I really have given Edge the chance to impress me, and that it has done with flying colours.Kari
And, as you imply here that MOST people haven't given Edge a good enough chance, and thus probably aren't as knowledgeable about it as you are, I decree you most probably haven't given the other better browsers a good enough chance to realize how much further advanced they are over Edge. Furthermore, this is probably true of all the extensions as well. I would bet my bottom dollar that there are tons of extensions for FF or Chrome which could be extremely useful to you, but since you have made up your mind that Edge is the end all be all of browsers for YOU, you haven't bothered to learn about them, or give them the SAME chance you have given to Edge.

For me, it's not just about hating Edge because of how poorly it runs as a browser, and lack of customization to fit my style of usage. It's because almost everything I run in Edge has a problem. It can NEVER do what I need it to do at any given moment. And Edge doesn't really define the problem for an easy quick fix. My company wants everything run in the M$ environment, and pushes us to use Edge for our field work. But every single time I open Edge and try to use it, things get screwed up. Yet, as soon as I revert back to Chrome, Vivaldi or FF, using the exact same things, they run fine. Not a problem at all. Nothing! Easy peasy. And extensions allow people to customize a browser to best fit their needs. It's plain to see, that you prefer to adapt to the default platforms, instead of doing this. You are in a huge minority in this way, but it's good that it works for you. But hundreds of millions of people prefer to change things around, and make their browsers work specifically the way they want them to. It is the single MOST important thing in a browser for millions of those people, and in the top two or three things for tens of millions more. Edge isn't even in the conversation in that aspect. So I'm glad it works for you, and more power to ya. But for a majority of the world, it just doesn't. And we have the same right to choose. Finally, like you, I have tested Edge each couple of builds that come out, just to see if they actually have improved it. And there are small things that get better. But I have used Vivaldi, Chrome and FF for years and years and years, with much better performance. I am totally happy with those browsers, which perform for ME a thousand percent better than Edge does. I have been using the extensions I use for years as well. And like the browsers themselves, those extension work excellent!!! Or as you say, with flying colors...

As I mentioned, I regularly (read: on daily basis) use four other browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Maxthon and Opera. I want to stay always automatically signed in to multiple Azure AD and Microsoft accounts, Edge being signed in to main AAD and MS accounts, four other browsers to rest of them. In fact, as the new Search function shows the five most used non-default applications on top, you can see that in my case three of those five are other browsers, in addition to my default Edge:

I have not stopped using extensions or add-ons because I use Edge. Even before Edge, when my main browsers were Chrome and Maxthon, I have never seen a reason to use any extensions. Of course there are some exceptions, I for instance use a short URL extension in Chrome to get some long URLs I want to post changed to my own custom short URL, to give an example here's a link to your post I am quoting: w10g.eu/s

You saying I do not know other browsers enough is simply not true. Was it yesterday or day before when you wrongly accused me about saying users not using Edge are wrong? Now it looks to me that you are trying to do your best to tell I am wrong because I love Edge.

I repeat: I am very experienced user of Chrome, Firefox, Maxthon and Opera. Because I know them well, know how resource hungry they are, and because they lose in comparison to Edge in every aspect, I love and use Edge.

    Your mileage may vary.

Funny, how I don't see Edge up there with them, which makes me question the results as normal. And, IF Edge was so great for you, why are you still using the other browsers enough to be on your most used apps list? But I digress...
And as for those other browsers being such resource hogs, I have an average of 50 to 60 tabs open on each browser, as it is my habit. This build completely removed the VMware Bridge Protocol out of the system(driver wasn't present), I didn't notice it until today.
But the "Repair Install" solved the problem and I am back on business.

Funny how you need to read my posts wrong to make a point. Edge is always running when I am online, but as you apparently don't know it (happy to educate you!), the Top Apps in Windows Search lists 5 most used Win32 apps, not UWP or PWA apps.

    Nice try, anyway.

    Resource hogs compared to Edge.

I just opened the same six tabs in Chrome I have open in Edge:

You need to try harder. Your serve, keenly awaiting to return it.

BTW, if you had 50 to 60 tabs open in Chrome as you say, it would show more than 43 running processes. Just saying...
