    Clean installed 18836 this morning and didn't have any problem getting back into the skip ahead ring.

    No tweaks? No reg hacks? Nothing but choose it? MS must have opened it back up, that's good news.

    @f14tomcat , yes and thanks for that. My system then - as no one else seems to have that issue. A few reboots might cure it though. Windows 10 is notorious on self healing

    One more thing about Edge that I absolutely abhor.

    I use a utility called Browser Chooser 2 to catch links that try to open from various programs (OutLook, Windows Mail, etc.), and give me a (configurable) list of browsers so I can pick which one I want that particular URL to open in. If I select Edge on any recent WinX IP build, instead of opening the link, it does a google search for the link. Every other browser takes the URL passed and opens it directly (and I have a few browsers installed).

    No different in this build - Edge still opens Google (which I have set as my default search engine) and searches for the link as passed to it.

    Google will use code that suits Chrome on it's own sites but I doubt it deliberately slows Edge or any other browser. I use Edge as an e-book reader but not as a browser if I can help it.
    Hi there

    @kado897

    If you want decent e-book reader and organiser --try calibre -- also converts between different formats so you can convert example epub to mobi /azi3 (kindle format) etc etc.

    Brilliant free program - both Windows and Linux - --why bother with edge for e-books !!!!

    calibre - E-book management

    you can also get plugin to remove drm from amazon e-books etc.

    Given up though on VBOX -- that's probably me rather than this windows build -- however I am disappointed that VMWare isn't working properly yet (Guests hang when you try and attach USB devices).

    Cheers

    Thanks Jimbo. I have used Calibre for years for organising my book and magazine collection. I just don't think much of their built in reader.
