    I guess my 6.9GB will take about 1.5h then...

    You should probably let it run until it is all over. It eventually will..

    Yeah, I'll leave it over night.

    I now know why it's so slow. It freaking decompress every update file there is and then deletes the unconpressed files one by one and finally deletes the comoressed one.

    How horrible is that? It would take me 1s to delete the contents of SoftwareDistribution/Downloads folder and everything would be running smoothly still.

    I'm not happy over this clean-up and free space question. Before clicking 'resume updates' (because I have them deferred) I had 42.3Gb free. That is now down to 40.9Gb free and with nothing showing to clean.

    To those seeing cleanup run for 30 min or 50 minutes or whatever, yes that is normal behaviour. Maybe you guys didn't run clean-up the last time updates were installed and so that is why you are seeing such a high workload now. Still doesn't explain my case however......

    @Mooly

    No, over one hour of disk cleanup is not normal. It has never ever taken over 10 minutes before today.

    My disk cleanup eventually finished after43 minutes after getting rid of 3.2 GB. Think I'll use cleanmgr+ next time

    Alright, one computer finished Disk Cleanup. Time taken: 1h 20minutes. That is horrible!

    The other one is still pretty much nowhere.
