IMHO your parents may be better off using the general release builds.
Indeed, why are parents on insider. It's not a good combination, you must have a lot of support calls.

Then that would suggest to me that that is their main computer if not their only computer. If that is the case I still say the release builds would be better.

We have a shared laptop at home and I would never ever stick a Fast Ring or Skip Ahead build on it. It is however connected to the IP, but it only receives Release Preview components and updates. I've made this decision, because we get fixes a bit faster and a lot of features change so much between new Windows releases, that it's cumbersome to use too differing Windows versions with one missing half of the cool stuff.

MS is officially discouraging people from using IE, I doubt they will ever fix it (intentionally). Better switch them to Firefox for instance, one of my main requirements for a browser is to have properly functioning Menu bar and falling menus. IE is bound to disappear soon anyway.
yea, I have heard that they might be getting rid of the IE11, and going to something (now what was it called), I think it was a cross-over for the Google Chrome and IE mixature.. Can't remember now, I saw it in a youtube video.

thanks everybody for the responses. I do appreciate it.

They are basing a future version of Edge on Chromium. IE will never be changed.

Yes, plan is to make a browser on Chrome basis but most probably looking like Edge. Will be interesting to find what will be like although I din't like either of them.

When someone is considering using any Insider version they have to decide if having the latest and greatest is worth the risk. I have the Insider builds on my new desktop and my laptop. I will not install it on my wife's laptop. She is computer illiterate and doesn't need the latest and greatest. She only needs a computer that works.

They may be getting close too cuz Edge Android hasn't had an update for weeks!

Invite? no one has received or will receive any invitation, when they have ready the first build of the "new" Edge, it can be downloaded and installed just as you can download and install Chrome, Chrome Canary, Chrome Beta, etc.
