And I had so many GSODs that I began to hate green! My solution was to finally go back to a clean install of 18305 and then reinstall, which took me off Skip Ahead. So, although I don't generally do those "bypass Microsoft's wishes" things, since I'm legitimately in the program, I ran Shawn's tutorial and I'm back in. No GSODs this time around.
Shawn's tutorial allowed you to get back into Skippie?

They were about to deprecate Paint as a win32 app completely, but then they planned on moving it to the Store. I think so many people complained about this move, that they have decided to keep it as is and only provide a few updates and fixes to it.I think that there are two win32 binaries that should never be removed from any Windows edition and never be converted into an UWP App:

    1. Notepad
    2. Paint

There might be more of these gems, but those two are the most important ones. They are simple and lightweight, and serves their purpose perfectly.
I haven't used Paint since I discovered ACDSee, years and years ago. This is an extremely powerful graphics program, and is one of the most user friendly and easy to learn on the market. Have you used ACDSee? And if so, how do the features and functions of the newest Paint compare?

Oh yes, Wordpad is one to add to the list.

I use Notepad for different reasons, and text with formatting is not compatible with what I need the editor for. (scripts, logs and CMD outputs)
Oh, yeah, Wordpad has some Word stuff in it. I use Notepad to change the names on my dual boot system. Windows 10 Production and Windows 10 Skip Ahead.

Yes, but I think only because I signed up for Skippy when they announced it this last time. I've seen posts where it wouldn't work for people who hadn't signed up for it.

I had ACDSee awhile back, but never even tried to work with it, since I'm graphics challenged. I may download it and try it again; I'd like to learn to make Sigs.

No I haven't used ACDSee, because Paint does exactly what I need it to do. I try to avoid extra bloat on my computer as much as possible. If I ever need something more powerful than Paint, I will most likely install GIMP or Blender, depending if I need it for image manipulation or for textures.

    MKV files with 18334

This is now a reported issue with MS
The suggestions on this forum that you can delete using CMD or Powershell, worked for some. Moving as well as deleting and the like could also be performed in Safe Mode.
None of these are particularly convenient to heavy users of .mkv files.
A solution has been found. install K-Lite codec pack.
Thereafter life will return to normal

    Happy Days

MS is officially discouraging people from using IE, I doubt they will ever fix it (intentionally). Better switch them to Firefox for instance, one of my main requirements for a browser is to have properly functioning Menu bar and falling menus. IE is bound to disappear soon anyway.

IMHO your parents may be better off using the general release builds.
