That got me confused, too. I mean, this is the tread about 18334. Where else should I post about my issues in 18334?

    Agreed.

Kari, tell that to the millions of people who upgraded for free because Microsoft allowed it. It's not what they said, it's what they did that matters.
The right thing for Microsoft to do is turn off the ability to do free upgrades.

    Agreed.

They should just turn if off ...

People with Win 7/8 OEM licences got DL without them knowing.. MS can't now go back and de-activate those.

They should just save themselves the bad rep. and let it be.

Besides there are already exploits to spoof DL's with generic Win 10 keys.. so MS has nothing to gain other than fuel piracy and antagonize the world by trying to cover-up their sloppiness.

I just completed testing shutdown and startup performance for 18334.1 on both Fast Ring and Skip Ahead, both running in Hyper-V. Both Startup and shut down very fast. No slowdowns at all.

In our local transport here in Leipzig, you can step in to trams, buses and trains without showing a ticket. In this metropolitan region of over 1 million inhabitants, transport authority have less than 200 controlles who work as pairs and travel around the region in random routes controlling that people have valid tickets. You get an €80 fine if found travelling without a valid ticket (normal price for up to 4 stops is €1.80, for unlimited stops within one hour €2.80).

A few years back, local tranport authority had a campaign, all local transport was free for a weekend, all Saturday and Sunday. Had it been a valid excuse to avoid the fine if you were caught travelling without a valid ticket on Monday, a day after the campaign ended, if you told that "I thought it was OK because it was possible"?

    Hi there
recently was in Berlin -- got a tourist / berlin ticket -- was never asked to validate its use on S-Bahn, U-Bahn, Bus etc or even show ticket so I'm sure many people would just ride for free !!!! Mind you Germany is a wealthy country so I suppose they can afford it. !!

Easy solution though have something like in London where you can use either a special London card (Oyster ??) or just a normal credit / debit card which you tap on to a reader entering / leaving public transport -- computer system charges only up to a maximum for a day however many times you use the system -- so I would assume as it works (usually) they can't be running Windows !!!!

Perhaps people who designed that system should have Windows development turned over to them - at least their system actually works properly with 100,000's users a day.

    Cheers

Following instructions using CMD or Powershell I can delete any folder BUT not one that contains an .mkv

I can not rename the folder, cut it or move it either
I have no issues in deleting MVK files or folders containing them with correct commands.

    Deleting individual MKV file:

    del /f FileName.mkv

Deleting a folder containing MKV files:

    rd /s /q Path\FolderName

Also, I have no issues in renaming a folder containing MKV files.

That explains it. I was a bit confused, thought there must be something I've not noticed.

Are peope ready for a 19H2 build? I sure am. I'm all set for Skip Ahead both in WU and the registry. Bring it on already.

Lol. If they'd get 19H1 right first before skipping to 19H2. I would call that good progress.

It is sometimes the case that problems in a previous buildl are corrected without notice in a Skippy build. It is rumored that MS will be tightening up on Skip Ring Insiders so I myself will not be dropping back to the Fast Ring. Its been awhile since there have been podcasts from Insider developers - I hope we might have one around the time the Skippy builds drop.

Well, I'm expecting a point when 19H1 and Skippy (19H2) would diverge soon. Time to think about Spring Update or what they may call it and that's what 19H1 is for.
