    Yeah - I get that but will it handle addons same way?
    There will definitely be more restrictions what an add-on can do. But that is a good thing too. Some add-ons do things that has nothing to do with the web and should not exist as browser plugins anyway.

    VMware is working fine here. Copied a few VMs from my Linux partition as well as connected to ESXi remote server.

    Hi there

    VMWare tests carried out:

    1) W10 HOST with VM centos 7 rel 7.6 build (current with updates applied - statndard via yum update so nothing special in the distro)
    --the VM boots but try and attach USB3 external HDD -- system locks and whole machine needs re-booting. Doesn't matter if vm config specifies USB2 or 3 - same problem. HDD's can be either windows(ntfs) or linux (xfs) formatted.

    2) CENTOS 7.6 HOST with W10 as VM. same problem when trying to attach an external HDD to the windows VM -- VM locks and system needs re-booting --- you can with linux force the vm off but it's easier to re-boot the machine as there might be all sorts of other processes still running.

    Most people who report VMWARE is working with this release of Windows whether as a host or running as a VM probably haven't tried attaching external HDD's to the VM.

    VBOX works but I'm just not comfortable with it -- also I use VMWARE workstation as I like the decent snapshotting facility which is either missing or not very good in the home version of VBOX.

    (Centos - supported by Red Hat is almost a clone of RHEL the commercial Redhat server which is used in 1000's of places so pretty bog standard - so nothing in the linux distro that should be a problem for Windows running it as a VM).

    Cheers

    @jimbo45

    VMWare is definitely the go to virtualization platform when you have both Windows and Linux hosts and want to virtualize anything from DOS to Linux and even something exotic like KolibriOS. Only issue I currently have with VMWare is it's pricing policy. Gets very expensive very fast.

    Hi there
    @slicendice

    Have multiple license from work (X6 !!!) so happy with that -- however if you don't use snapshotting the free vmware player is pretty sophisticated too and should be more than adequate for most people.

    It's only in these last few insider builds that I've been getting all these problems with VMWARE -- normally 100% solid, reliable and quite efficient these days -- I think in some instances you can get performance on the VM which is about 90% of running Native.

    HYPER-V has limitations as you have to run Windows 10 PRO as a Host and it's still IMO (sorry kari) not quite ready for prime time for the average desktop user who just wants to play with a few VM's. In theory though HYPER-V could be made incredibly efficient if one could minimize the Windows OS Gui bit.

    Sandbox feature pretty useless -- that could be a decent new feature though - but please Ms get basic stuff working properly first.

    Cheers

    Is it just me or does this build take a long time to shut down.
    I dunno about shutting down, Keith, but it sure starts up fast!

    Hi there
    doesn't really help if it starts up fast when you can't do anything sensible with it after it starts.

    Have you tried VMware ? That seems to be Jimbo's main concern.

    Hahah, so very true.

    I'd rather wait 30 minutes for a system to boot up if it then runs flawlessly, than wait 1s and I can't do squat.

    In 18334 you can not move or delete .mkv files with explorer.
    I've Tried using CMD and Powershell but they don't work either.
    I can not delete the folder the the files are contained in either.
    Any ideas?

    Some test files here (Kodi) if you want to try out the issue.
    Y'all are in the wrong thread. You need to be in the Build 18334/1901 thread; this is the 1809 thread.
