    IT WORKED!!!

Tried to update using WU several times, and nothing happened during reboot phase.

Next I tried PSWindowsUpdate and again nothing happened during reboot phase.

Then I just went back to WU and hit reboot. Got GSOD.

Once back on desktop, I hit reboot again and this time it started to configure the update and returned 20-30 minutes later to updated desktop.

What a headache this one was.

    Thanks!

Let's hope my Skip Ahead VM is working a bit better than the Fast VM. They are starting off on completely different builds so I have higher hopes for this one.

This is the first build that I updated and there wasn't any reboot in between the upgrade itself so it went desktop-reboot-desktop of next build, all in one go.

As mentioned in "Known Issues", the brightness slider doesn't work in this build on my laptop. It stays at 100% no matter what it's set to.
Works in the Intel Graphics settings on my laptop.

Well, that worked a lot better! Upgraded from Build 18317 to 18329 in a little over 30 minutes -- with no issues!

Looks like the 18323 update was a fluke, as it's the only one that failed so badly.

Night Light yea or nay (despite what the release notes say)?

    Nay here.
I agree. It seems to be harder on my eyes.

I do hope they follow through with that. I wish car manufacturers would do the same instead of that very non informative Service Engine Soon (Check Engine) light.
