Windows 3.0 File Manager now available as UWP app for Windows 10

Takes me back this does as some of my friends had this! I first used a computer when windows 95! but used to love this one

Better than This file manager though I think the original XTREE which ran under Ms Dos was actually fast, efficient etc even though it ran on MsDOS !!!

Personally if anybody is developing a file manager for Windows their time would be better spent in designing a system that would handle log path/directory/file/track names so you can have names longer than 266 chars.

If you use say RAID 0 (good for aggregating HDD's into multi volume arrays) on a NAS with 5TB of music you can get some long file names !!!!!!!! and all you see on Windows is the old 8.3 format if Windows can't handle the long file name

Note RAID 0 for speed as well -- but you need backup because if you lose any HDD in the array the whole array needs to be rebuilt again but with reliability of modern HDD's and the speed + being able to aggregate multiple HDD's into single arrays is worth the convenience over organising libraries over several volumes.

I followed link into store it loaded then I launched it clicked on it and it opened up straight away! I did mine straight from 10 and it put a tile in start for me

I was referring to the folder erpster4 said was accessible. I have no problem with other aspects of using it. I downloaded mine from GitHub as a portable app rather than use the Store's UWP version.

Dick - I have Treesize. I was just interested in what can be done with this old File manager. The only use I have found for it is to expand a selected folder tree completely and that only comes in handy when I am reorganising files-folders.
