Thanks for the heads-up.
Set my Surface Pro 4 to Skip Ahead.
Now Windows Update has the "Error encountered" message on that system. The system has internet access, so the error must be at the MS end. Probably haven't finished setting it up there, or a new Skip Ahead build hasn't been yet issued.
Windows Insider Service is running on that system.
I'm having problems running WU on all my PCs. Getting the error message on 3 (not all are Insider) and failure to download available WD updates on 2 others. I think there are problems at Microsoft.
EDIT: All my systems have finally been able to download WD updates via WU. I saw there was a huge spike in connection problems by Office 365 users this afternoon from 3 PM until after 6 PM in the US Eastern time zone, so Microsoft was apparently having some server problems.

Thats unusuall,
got my insider "fix" for slow loading and it doesn't show that.
from the message would have to assume its on a current release, or youve opted out

GOOD GRIEF is right --- what is this? This build is something else. I had a difficult time doing any of the quests this time for the bug bash because of the number of individuals with major issues with this build. They are talking about this being the next big release --- they are full of beans and other things. This build has major issues. So many blue screens and green screens, inability to get to WU screens, But they keep adding 'junk' to the build that has nothing to do with a stable environment! And a bigger concern is that no one is looking at the feedback that we diligently send to them to tell them about major issues.
