    Hi there
personally why can't they try and remove as many defects from existing systems before adding features that many people don't want or use. Simple things like fixing language problems, not changing login screens with "not user selectable" hideous unviewable current login screen, ensuring abasic video driver works whatever graphic card is installed so system doesn't freeze if some weird new graphics from Nvidia etc is on your system, command prompt works properly, file system please ALLOW LONG NAMES - the 266 character limit is quite restrictive these days with large NAS systems around, networking to work OOB without so many times one or other computer can't see or access others on a LAN etc etc.

I don't need things like cortana - once I start yelling at machines it's time for me to take a one way trip to "The Funny Farm" I think. A decent search facility though would be fine --if Google and Duckgogo can do it Ms should not have a problem - that BING thing is a disgrace IMO anyway. And let's have the option of having menus back on browsers etc - a load of us have large and multiple monitor systems now - we don't want or need a desktop computer to always work as if it's an overgrown mobile phone. !!!

    Cheers

    Because

    1. They never have in the past,
    2. They are Micro$oft,
    3. The OS is built upon VB, which is in and of itself bug-ridden, and
    4. They're Micro$oft.

Seriously, though, it's the same thing people have been saying about M$ since the days of ME, really. And, if you want to get really pedantic, since the days of MS-DOS 6.

At any rate, since my last clean install, I've taken a more conservative route to running IP builds, similar to what Kari has done. I've set my computer up for slow ring updates, but I manually download the files from UUPDump and create my own .ISOs, and then manually install.

All told, if I include the time to actually DL and create the .ISO, it probably took me no more than 45-50 minute from start to finish to upgrade from 18312 (I Skipped 18317 because by the time I got it news had already started breaking about he Next build ready to be released).

Am I the only one who is totally underwhelmed by 1903. I cannot think of a single new feature or improvement that makes me remotedly excited.

    Nope. Me too.
I can, but not for any positive reason. I.E. - the stupid trash at the top of the settings page! I've always wanted my email address exposed to anybody who walks by!

    There....minor venting complete!

What is Insyde Software-Firmware? Windows Update is waiting to restart so this can be installed.

They make UEFI firmware for MS Surface Go, whatever that is! Is your PowerSpec G156 one of those?

Thanks! This is on my Acer Laptop that I just did a clean install of 18323 on. I don't even own a MS Surface Go.
