    Anyone lose icons on the taskbar? On my laptop they still highlight and work even though they don't show. I haven't tried my desktop.

    @Winuser, that's a known issue and has been around (for some) for roughly three builds. Restarting the shell (or the system, though that takes longer) will get you back to normal.

    The slow-app issue, which many have been seeing randomly since 18317, has now been "collected," which means it's a thing and not imaginary:
    Feedback Hub - Windows Insider

    Major clue in the comments: Windows Insider Service, which isn't even normally started (it's triggered). But sure enough, during one of the 30 or 45-second waits, I noticed that the service had started. When I stopped it, the program that I had run earlier immediately started....

    I get the same Kari reported.

    Does this require a local Administrator account? I don't have one, only a Microsoft administrator account.

    Edit: Nope, created a local Administrator account and still get the same failure.
