I believe you meant to post this in the 18232 Insider build thread. In any case, at this stage of the game, Insider updates can be one step forward, 1.5 steps back, as they try things, and regressions pop up, and so forth. If you want to run Insider builds, you have to be prepared for all sorts of strangeness. It is not a steady March of Progress all the time
I posted HERE because this is the thread about this Update -- and it was delivered to me an an Update. Lots of other folks have also posted HERE and I didn't notice any of them being lectured about WHERE to post.

I've been doing Insider updates for years now, and through 18317, not run into any serious issues like with this build. So, something NEW is happening in this build and I was hoping to find out what.

Also, I've read on other forums about folks running into the same issues I did, so I was hoping to get some help -- not lectures about how Insider updates can fail.

Beat me to it!!! It's a huge problem in America right now, with people stealing packages, and even mail from mailboxes. It's a wonder we never went to locked mailboxes. Seems like a common sense fix, but never have seen it implemented anywhere. The post person could have a master key, and we all have an issued key for the front of the box. And we all have personal keys for the rear. Would make things a lot more secure in my opinion.
Most developments already do that here in Fla and probably most places in the US. There is one mail area for every so many apartments, town homes or homes, each has a key to open it. The mailman has a key that opens a large door at the back that gives access to the entire set of boxes. There are 2 or 3 large boxes with keys that larger packages are placed in and the key for that box is then placed in the appropriate smaller mail box.

    Works pretty well.

It all deplends on where you live. Here in Floyd County, VA where I'ver lived for 25 years I have never had mail or packages stolen. Sometimes the mail person leaves mail in my dysfunctional 1994 Chevy truck but that's only if it won't fit in the box.

    Slow program Startup

I cannot find the solutions people have posted for slow program startup in this build. Can somebody point me to the discussion (Brink??). It's pretty annoying for sure.

    TIA

I doubt this is the solution but it works for me, I disabled Insider Service...

The header is activated via server, you may not have it now, but in a few days it could appear.
I still have a clean header on my laptop that I did a clean install on.

Easy big fella - I wasn't 'lecturing' you about anything. I just thought you'd made an honest mistake - it happens all the time. The honest mistake was on my part - I misread something in your message. This was certainly the right place to post. Sorry for the confusion (on my part).

Well, here in Arkansas, there's a solution to stealing mail from mailboxes; everyone has either a shot gun or a rifle.

As far as keyed mailboxes other than banks of them in subdivisions, put in by the developer or home owners' association, the cost to residents would be exorbitant. It already costs $.49 to mail a letter; that cost would probably triple or quadruple. Not only would the cost of mailboxes go up, but the time it takes to actually deliver the mail, especially in rural areas, would go up. Ain't no way that huge wad of advertising material would fit into a slot on a mailbox! In rural areas every mailbox would have to be opened. So, nope, I don't see it happening at all.

Yup, if you live in a subdivision. We had that in our subdivision in Texas, but there are more rural areas than there are subdivisions and apartments.
