I refer to the fact that some people apparently believe that Microsoft did not even announce this new option, and it is clearly described and announced in the flight notes.
I read 'em, Leo, and when I came to "group policy" my eyes must have glazed over. I don't mess around with that stuff because I want my 'chine to continue to work.

    Hi there
Good idea in theory --but of course if you are experimenting with a new Ms build on a modified system --then if something goes bonkers it's much harder to analyse where the fault lay.

Personally I like to test out a new basic system "warts and all" first -- and then tweak it / modify it. However each to their own methodology.

When I find a "wart", @jimbo45, I hotfoot it over here to see if someone's posted a fix/workaround. Sometimes too, if I'm late to the party, I read the first wave of posts to see if anyone had discovered any "warts" and what they're doing about them.

Thus, I knew about the "Restart" problem in 18312 before I installed. Once installed and confirmed, I went to Feedback and upvoted plus gave my experience in a comment.

I don't have that Reserved Storage at all.

I don't have it either, and I worked all morning looking for it.

I had a similar problem. I got around it by restoring the previous build 18308.1003 and upgrading from that directly to 18312.1001. So if you have a backup it may be worth trying.
    I haven't a backup so... tried again.
Deleted again software distribution folder, restart and after half hour the new build was installed.
But I discovered a bug in windows security.

The way to disable that blur appears in the flight notes:
    Attachment 220378
That's all love and roses for Pro users... but what about Home users..?

Maybe it has to do with this known issue:

    Hi there.

    @Rocky

Doesn't sound like a productive morning for a feature that I'm sure not many people need or even want -- If people want a decent OS then they should forget about tiny machines with minimal RAM etc -- android devices are far better for that type of stuff -- It makes zero sense to try and run a proper desktop OS with a full blown GUI such as windows on a machine with 1GB RAM and tiny 32 GB HDD's -- Linux will work on those systems far better but even then if you want a GUI on those systems -- I give up. !!!! -- Go back to windows CE or an embedded OS with diskless workstations.

    Cheers

Yup! Windows is too bloated for small devices (tablets and phones etc)
