[ADDED 1/16] After installing KB4480116, some users report that they cannot load a webpage in Microsoft Edge using a local IP address. Browsing fails or the webpage may become unresponsive.
I had this problem on multiple machines. I could not access my router management on two different routers. The suggested fix did not help. I backed off the update and all is well.
I can access my Asus router gui just fine with edge after the update.
You're lucky then. This Edge bug also exists in 1809 since its Jan 8 cumulative update. Some routers work fine with Edge but many do not. A list of some of those affected here...
Cumulative Update KB4480116 Windows 10 v1809 Build 17763.253 - Jan. 8 Windows Update - Page 9 - Windows 10 Forums
I have an ASUS RT-AC86U router and a Billion 7401 VGP-R3 modem router. The latter is only used for VoIP these days. I don't need a modem as my fibre service has an Ethernet interface. Neither of these will work with Edge and the update. I am now back on 17763.194 and all is well.
Guys I really need your help.Im using Windows 10 1809 but I modified my iso-remove some adds, languages, but never mind of my tries all the time got error 0x800f0982 so Im staying on november 1809.107.Ive tried everything-no solution with updates. Can anyone tell me where is my mistake. When I was on win 10 1703 there was no problems with updates.Tell me what to do.Crazy situation - Im close to become out of control...what the f....ck is going on.My computer is HP 250 G5 Notebook. Thanks for attention in advance..
Whoooo there horsey, whooooohhhhh.... first of all, dont mod your ISO when you know what you are DOING! Second, keep on updating, don't stop and take all the updates. Third, solution is kinda easy: just burn a new ISO, use it to make another DVD and do a in-place repair. Somewhere Windows got mixed up and with a fresh DVD you can easily undo the things you did wrong. Take a deep breath, count to ten and make a fresh DVD. Oh yes, don't forget to update this time!
