It is enabled, I enabled it.
    C:\WINDOWS\system32>reg query "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ReserveManager"

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ReserveManager
    BaseHardReserveSize REG_QWORD 0x140000000
    BaseSoftReserveSize REG_QWORD 0x60000000
    MinDiskSize REG_QWORD 0x500000000
    MinUserSpace REG_QWORD 0x0
    HardReserveAdjustment REG_QWORD 0x219ae000
    PassedPolicy REG_DWORD 0x0
    ShippedWithReserves REG_DWORD 0x1
    TiAttemptedInitialization REG_DWORD 0x1

Maybe it takes time for it to build up?

I see what you mean though, no Reserved storage showing under System & Reserved. Now I ask why, as I did enable it. I've rebooted several times sense then too. Maybe because it's a Virtual Machine (Oracle VB)?

It doesn't show on my Laptop either which is running 18309.1000 Home and which I also enabled:

I mean that the "Reserved storage" is not enabled yet, this:

That reserved space will only appear and will only be used when you upgrade to the next build:

Ah, seems like it should allocate it now before the next update to insure it's available for the next update.

Where did you get steps 5 and 6? If they are from the Quest, the Feedback App is not working for me so I can't look at it. I get this:

Never MInd. I was trying to run the quest from a non-Insider machine. Ran it on my Laptop and it works fine.

That extra 7GB will make a 32GB tablet almost unusable rather than just a pain to upgrade using external disk. Anyone try it on such a machine?

Can this be switched off? Or does it just add 7+Gbyte to every backup of C:\? Can this "Reserved Storage" be placed on another drive than C:\?
If it can't be switced off, and it can't be moved away from C:\ then it is very bad news IMO.
Nobody has answered my question, so I'm trying again. Can it be switched off or be moved out of C:\?? Or is this just another "dead meat" to drag in every drivebackup of C:\

I really don't need this at all, and I really don't need 7+Gbyte extra to back up every week

Currently no. Hopefully in future versions.

I'm not sure it would be included in a backup though since this will be a cache something like the pagefile.

Okay, but that requires the backup program (in my case Acronis) know about this "file" and/or "file-type" to exclude this in a backup for the full SSD, right?

I have enabled it but I see I'll have to wait until the next update for it to be enabled.

It's pretty much a wait and see until after the next build update to see how it actually works.

Good news or bad news!. In any case, make sure, folks, that you have enough free space on your HD before 19H1.
