    Hi folks

using UUPDUMP to install latest iso I got a Virus warning -- threat level severe

Here's my post with screen shot

UUP Dump -- new probem or just false positive - Windows 10 Forums

not sure if it's a false positive

anyway the system is on an isolated VM so no big deal

    any thoughts.

    Cheers

The UUPDump exe always triggers defender. Use the 7z archive instead.

In poking around various settings in 18309, I came across a strange anomaly. My C: drive, on which this build is installed, totals 96 GB. Settings>Storage reports 295 GB, that's gigabytes, IN USE, with 80.4 GB free. The 80.4 GB free number is correct, but claiming 295 GB in use on a 96 GB partition is an obvious bug.

290 of this is reported as System & reserved, 4.4 as Apps & features, and some dribs and drabs of other stuff.

Do other people see anything like this? I searched Feedback but didn't see anything similar. Is this known behavior?

    Hi there
Another defect : When running as a VM in VMWARE the Windows update screen wouldn't do anything -- the system didn't freeze and I could leave the settings screen but bit silly if update isn't working.

On a Linux Host using KVM (Hypervisor rather akin to HYPER-V) Windows update screen functioned correctly -- I'm beginning to get a bit fed up with the battle with VMWare every time windows does a major update -- KVM works a treat although a bit complex to set it up if you aren't an experienced Linux user.

Still language settings change problem though -- locks when you get into "advanced" features when you want to set display / logon screen and welcome messages to your chosen language.

    Cheers

If so many issues persist, I would suggest using a stable windows version with latest update, rather than battling with insider issues on your production machine.
On my pc though, most everything does work fine, and stable as well, so i will continue to run insider, albeit always keeping a backup with macrium reflect

Just realized that I am experiencing the same issue/phenomenon in regular Windows 17763.253. I have searched hither and yon, but can find no insight - anyone have a clue?

I would suggest not to use an Insider Preview (beta) version of Windows 10 on any production machine. Not even with Macrium Reflect backups!

Why, both of my machines work great with Skippy, there's nothing so debilitating to make it unusable. I did all my work with Autocad with it.
