For that one, I and some others have had success in using gpedit.msc to disable Defender, followed by a reboot. In my case, the "Bucket ID" for the crashes in Reliability Monitor mentioned "AV_bindflt," which made me think Defender.

As long it will stay at one time event, I'll leave it. Was messing with network shares at the time.

First VM created using Virtualbox 6.0 running on Fedora. Speed is impressive. I believe I'm going to either replace Hyper-V on my Windows 10 Partition or maybe attempt a dual boot between Hyper-V and non Hyper-V virtualization platforms. Hylper-V need to rely on RDP for some things is a bit tiresome when I could have have VMware and Virtualbox happily playing with each other. I don't think it is impossible for VMware to develop a future version of WS which can run with Hyper-V I'm not sure it would be worth the resources for VMware to pull it off.New Windows 10 Insider Preview Fast Build 18309 (19H1) - Jan. 3-screenshot-2019-01-08-03-25-25.png

If you changed the registry key, as explained in the Feedback hub quest, you will have it after upgrading to the next build:

    Hi there

IMO a sensibly designed / written and efficient OS should be able to dynamically allocate and release resources on demand rather than pre-allocate stuff -- even at install time the install program could see what's needed and inform user at start of process if resources weren't sufficient rather than abending half way through the process because it had run out of disk space.

These days with cheap SSD's (you can pick up 250 GB SSD for around 35 USD now - seems to me a pointless exercise to "reserve" disk space. Keep the OS etc on that and everything else (private data etc) on other disks -- if it's a laptop with only 1 HDD either on a separate partition or on external devices.

    Cheers

Well, on some small devices with limited storage choices it could be useful but only for updating, if it would curtail available space even further, then it would be nuisance.

I think I got one too, Andre. I was reading TF when everything went green with the following:

So, I'm not sure it was a GSOD, but my computer never did restart. I had to do a hard shutdown and then reboot.
Wynona, I had the same Green Screen with the same stop code just after I installed 18309. It hasn't happened since.

    Hi folks

using UUPDUMP to install latest iso I got a Virus warning -- threat level severe

Here's my post with screen shot

UUP Dump -- new probem or just false positive - Windows 10 Forums

not sure if it's a false positive

anyway the system is on an isolated VM so no big deal

    any thoughts.

    Cheers
