That's just the way some folks work . . . some don't like change, and IE does take ya back . . . way, way, way back!I quit using IE a long time ago when it wouldn't do what I wanted it to. Changed over to Firefox and never looked back.
Lol. Yyyyyyyyyyeah. Everyone has a right to do as they prefer. So I'm not bugging on them. But it's like making a case for horse and buggies over a car. Why use something that's full of problems, when there are much, much, MUCH better solutions out there that are free, more efficient and compatible with everything we do on browsers??? Lol. To each their own...

Hi thereNetwork defect -- don't know why but sometimes the same computer is mapped twice in file explorer - network. ??Attachment 219971BTW IMO speeds of browsers are such a boring topic -- there's all sorts of good reasons for using whatever browser you feel comfortable with but most of the browsers speed depends on things like load on site being visiited (if site is overloaded it can't transfer the data to the browser fast however inherently fast the browser might be), your own device load, isp load, network speed etc etc to say nothing of any particular software / scripts that the site might be running on your browser.Just choose the one you like but IMO the speed is so irrelevant it isn't an issue --how the interface feels to you the user and how secure it is are way way more important. The only time speed could possibly be an issue is if watching a lot of large video content e.g movies / video presentations -- the rendering engine might be a consideration there - but even in that case why would I say watch netflix on a computer using a browser --its got its own application !!.Cheersjimbo
I agree 100%. Most browsers are similarly speedy. Although IE does tend to be the outlier there. But even though chrome and FF are more mainstream, I find myself using Vivaldi 90% of the time, simply because it is ten times easier to set it up to look and work exactly like I want it to. Trying to setup FF or even Chrome to look and work the way I want it to, is damn near impossible. I've tried several times. So yeah, having things appear where you want them, and work the way you want them to is the most useful thing on most browsers.

Welllllllll, there are some good reasons to go back to horse and buggy . . .

They don't pollute, and what some folks would call pollution is actually a very good fertilizer.

Thanks. Too much work. As far as I can see the main inpact of not activating an insider build is the block on "personalization". However, as I noted, there are ways to get around that. I just started buying inexpensive 3rd party programs (like from Iobit) that do stuff that Windows leavers out. I suspect the days where Microsoft is going to charge hundreds of dollars for desktop for a desktop OS they have already said is the end of the line are numbered.

    Jost Got GSOD

    description: Microsoft Filesystem Filter Manager
Bug check description: This indicates that an exception happened while executing a routine that transitions from non-privileged code to privileged code.
This appears to be a typical software driver bug and is not likely to be caused by a hardware problem.
The crash took place in a file system driver.

I think I got one too, Andre. I was reading TF when everything went green with the following:

Windows Insider Build ran into a problem. We're collecting error information and will then restart.

    What failed: bindflt.sys stopcode
So, I'm not sure it was a GSOD, but my computer never did restart. I had to do a hard shutdown and then reboot.

It works for me, but it only works in 19H1, if I open it on my PC with the October Update, it doesn't work, which is normal.
