Cliff, RDP works, giving the same than enhanced mode which in fact is just a variation of RDP.
To much extra work to set up Kari.
The fact is they broke something very basic to hyper-v running a Windows 10 VM, and how can the VM be tested if one either can't get into it, or use the stuff that needs advanced mode, like mics, and sound, and so on.

Again Cats & hats tweets are more important than the OS working properly

I've not seen any cats & hats tweets since the 1809 fiasco. I think someone must have had a word.

Yep, the Ninja Cat has been very silent lately. And most tweets makes no sense to me what so ever. Wonder what's going on.

It is a lot of work to setup Windows for Workstations Build 18305 as a Hypler-V VM but this is a good start. No enhanced mode, generation 1. I don't know if generation 2 will work. I will check my VMware version for Enhanced Mode once I boot to Rawhide (with Kernel 4.21). My go through the work necessary to dual boot Hyper-V and VMware until the glorious day they will work at the same time - along with Virtualbox 6.

So, I got sandbox working but no connection to internet.

    So

    1) is that normal

    2) how do I copy files from elsewhere apart from a usb drive perhaps if I cannot connect to a network share?

Update to "Known Issues" for 18305.1003 in first post.

[ADDED 1/1/19] Windows Defender Application Guard and Windows Sandbox fail to launch on Build 18305 with KB4483214 installed. Workaround is to uninstall this update.

But that's back to .1000 so I would loose VMware. I need that more than half baked Sandbox.

    Hi there

    Happy New Year everyone. !!

    @cereberus

    1) You should have Internet connections in the sandbox if the host has them - not sure why you don't. Edge (hate it though) works.

    2) Sharing disks is problematic - as well as direct connections to the sandbox of usb devices. You can share FROM HOST to sandbox (assuming you get your network connectivity working) but it doesn't work the other way around (at least that's what happens on my system where I have all WIRED connectons (no Wifi setup).

I.E HOST can see SANDBOX but SANDBOX doesn't see Host. So you have to copy from the Host's network drive via Cut and paste !!!! (yes really) to the "C" drive on the sandbox first -- you can't share the actual network drive directly in the sandbox via for example mount network drive etc.

Note also that you can't install any software on the sandbox that requires a re-boot (of the sandbox) -- this is a bit of a "bummer" for any sort of sensible software installation and testing.

Sandbox idea is OK but this particular development is far too early in its development cycle to be anything actually useful.

    Cheers
