Strange issue with Hyper-V, anyone else seeing this:

Trying to switch VM to enhanced mode, VM Connection tries to change the mode but fails after a second or two, showing "Video remoting was disconnected", then tries again, and again. Only way to exit the loop is to close VM Connection window, reconnect and not switch the mode.

Enhanced mode works on those virtual machines which were switched to enhanced mode before the upgrade, and the mode settings saved. It does not work on any new virtual machines, nor on those created prior to upgrade but mode settings not saved.

    @Kari

Yep, having the exact same issue when using Hyper-V connection into 18305.1000 and .1003

Update: Remote desktop works great though, but had to first enable it in the VM in normal mode.

Not exactly. Someone told me if I shut down and reboot, it activates fast startup, while restart doesn't activate fast startup.

Now I know why restart takes longer than a shut down and reboot.
That still has no bearing on BIOS behavior, during reboot it shuts power down and than starts again.

    Hi folks

That fix for VMWARE Bridged networking after you've used the sandbox and disabled it again works ONCE until you next use the sandbox.

After disabling the sandbox again you have to run the work around again.

I'm really not sure why a Sandbox has to stop the main OS running Virtual machine software. I believe that SANDBOXIE (haven't used it myself though so can't say) doesn't have those restrictions.

    Cheers

It had lots of bearing on daughter's problem with her missing sound adjustment slider. She shut down and rebooted and still no slider. When she followed the instructions to Restart instead of shut down, etc., she got the slider back.

Gotta remember the rules, Jimbo . . . This is a beta, and they said it's only a start.

    Known issues
    • When Windows Sandbox is first installed and on every servicing event a setup process will run and trigger significant CPU and disk activity for a minute or so.
    • Opening the Start menu in Windows Sandbox takes some time and some Start Menu apps will not run.
    • The time zone is not synchronized between Windows Sandbox and the host.
    • Windows Sandbox does not support installers which require reboot.
    • The Microsoft Store is not supported in Windows Sandbox.
    • Windows Sandbox does not support high dpi displays very well.
    • Windows Sandbox does not fully support multi-monitor configurations.

And this is probably only a few of the issues. As we've seen here.

Confirmed, fresh boot only with 'Fast Startup' enabled...

...dismiss the Lock Screen and PIN in and I'm fully loaded...

as a matter of fact, my custom cursor displays on the fresh boot lock screen...

I haven't seen the preload issue, the log on screen preloads all content fine in all circumstances, only slow downs i did notice is launching icons from fences software frames, unsure if it applies to desktops without such software, otherwise seems sufficient for such an early build.

Yep, use WIN + R and then type:
    For shutdown:
    Code:
    shutdown /s /t 0
    or for reboot:
    Code:
    shutdown /r /t 0
Both will wipe any memory residue and boot up computer clean and potentially fix any memory corruption that cause havoc in some apps.

    Explanation for switches:
    /s = shutdown
    /r = reboot
/t = time to snooze before committing to the request
0 = the actual time in seconds -> immediately shutdown
