I have not been able to test that new feature, as others have commented here and in other forums, the "sandbox window" appears for a few seconds and then disappears, but I am a fairly patient insider so I will wait until the next year when they release a new build to see if the problem is fixed.
As far as I know, there's no way to do this. Theoretically, Sandbox is just a container and if using Docker, you can change parameters of a container, but I have found no way to change Sandbox virtual hard disk size, or any other of its parameters.
Only way I have found to do this is to map host shares as mapped drives in Sandbox.
Running Sandbox on your host, there's no way.
However, if you enable nested virtualization on a Hyper-V VM, you can enable and run Sandbox on that VM:
When running Sandbox on Hyper-V VM, you can save virtual machine's current state (including Sandbox current state) by creating a Hyper-V VM Standard Checkpoint.
