    might as well complement it with universal watermark disabler from winaero, to remove that ugly insider watermark...

    Pretty, but my eyes couldn't stand the high contrast bright colors. I can barely stand the bright white I mostly have to type on in almost everything.

    Looking at the site, I'm assuming the desktops are yours? Not a bad price either.

    I cannot for the life of me get Windows Sandbox to work. Virtualization is on in BIOS, I've enabled it through Windows Features and when I click on it in the Start Menu, it either does nothing, or shows the little splash screen for a while and then disappears. I did the WU upgrade from 18298.
    Same here. I followed Brink's tutorial and it installed, shows in the Start Menu, but when I click on it, I get the "Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device" question and that's the end of that. Nothing else will happen.

    Hi there

    @Kari

    When you try and create the "C" drive from within the Sandbox as a shared drive it doesn't accept that user. You can still set "everyone" though.

    Problem is when accessing the Sandbox's "C" drive via network browsing you get prompted for user id and password and it doesn't accept the built in user or says password invalid.

    It would be nice to be able to copy data from the Non sandboxed (normal OS) to the sandboxed one.

    I don't think the sandbox itself runs too slowly (at least on my system) but you need SSD's and a reasonably powerful processor or it probably will run as slow as Molasses !!!!! -- Enough RAM is of course a given.

    another problem is when you add the language options the application hangs (the main OS, not Sandbox) under advanced to set the logon screen and user accounts to your languge (under Language -->advanced settings)

    Thanks! I avoid Settings as much as possible because IMO it's still all over the place and very unreliable. I liked the Control Panel and Administrative tools much more, and that's where one usually has to go still, when configuring settings.

    Kinda useless, really!
    There's no apps, no Store...
    Can't change many settings, can't personalize anything...

    Can't activate it, no keys work...

    it's like a clean install every time you open Sandbox, pita!

    Password is not a problem, you can just reset it in Local Users and Groups (lusrmgr.msc):

    The problem is, there's no way to change required options in Advanced Sharing Options in Network and Sharing Center.

    EDIT:
    This was an RTFM error, caused by idiot user. Setting Sandbox network type to Private and sharing whole drive C:, it was a piece of cake to map it on host. Mapping with computer name did not work, but mapping with its IP address, username WDAGUtilityAccount and the new password, it's now mapped on host:

    Yeah, I get that. In this case, though, it's simply the easiest and fastest method to find that info.

    Hi there
    @Kari

    Thanks that's a great help and it makes the thing a lot more useable.

    I'm a pest but 3 more questions !! (After this I'm off for Xmas / New year - booze, parties, Northern Lights, Midnight swim in the Blue Lagoon - hot springs under Aurora -- fantastic etc. -- Unlike November this time of year in spite of daylight roughly from 11.15 - 15.45 local time is a fantastic time to be here).

    1) can one make the size of the Sandbox "C" drive any larger

    2) The main OS can now access the Sandbox's "C" drive but can one connect any extra drives / USB sticks to the sandbox (as Read only) I'd like to try out a different version of KODI for example and play some multi-media -- no need to have "Persistent Disks"

    3) anyway of "Snapshotting" the Sandbox before exiting -- it would be good to be able to open a Sandbox on which you still want to do some testing but haven't finished in your session.

    Thanks !!!!

    Cheers

    Yeah, I've thought about that as well, but the flights change so rapidly, that I thought it might become a pain. Just like I had replaced ALL folders on the entire os, with custom folders. But every new flight brought most of them back to the ugly yellow stock folder icons again. So I stopped changing those as well.

    I can understand. But for myself, I love high contrast bright colors. And I got rid of all the white backgrounds on Word, and most other ones. Mine are all black now, with colored writing. I use a 65" Samsung QLed 4K tv as my monitor. And it is crazy bright. So I got rid of all the white screens I could. But Objectdock is a MUST! I have been using it since 2013, and hate using a pc without it. It's definitely worth the money. You can create so many different kinds of docklets to go on the dock, and all of those icons are custom that I have added. You can make it big or small, and put it on either side, top or bottom. I have Rocketdock on my top, and Objectdock on the bottom and left side. Anything I need on my sys is right there at my fingertips. You can also make stacked docklets to put full folders on there. Check out the pic below. The entire doc disappears until I place my mouse at the bottom of the screen, then when I run it over the doc, each icon zooms as I select it. When I click a stacked docklet, the entire folder appears on the screen for me to choose which ever file or folder I need. It's very convenient. In the bottom scrn capture, you can see my Rocketdock on the top, while Objectdock is off screen, and Word is open to show you the black background, with colored writing. Cheers!

    In "Disk clean up" and in "Temporary files" in Settings-Storage a new warning appears:
    New Windows 10 Insider Preview Fast Build 18305.1003 (19H1) - Dec. 20-25.png

    According to Albacore, it appeared in this build, but I'm not sure about that, I think it comes from some previous build.

    EDIT: Using Macrium I went back to the previous build (18298) and, indeed, that warning doesn't appear in that build so it's something new in this build.
