I was not even aware of all those changes about Office. Like I said, the last Office suite I used was the 2007 version probably for a 2-year period. After that, I subscribed to Office 365 as soon as it became available and I can use it on up to 6 computers + the 1TB cloud storage, which is not a bad deal, all things considered. If this is true about the limited number of times you can install the suite, I would find that absolutely ridiculous for lack of a better word.

I am glad that I only have to pay an annually fee and forget about all these shenanigans. LOL
I would be cautious about cloud storage, the files you place there are available to the entire world - especially MS. A story: I was registered on MS answers and one day I looked and there was an avatar that I had not placed that was from my user account. In other words MS had hacked my PC to get that image and if my PC is not off limits, imagine what they are getting off a cloud? Bet they have a private line to the NSA.

I don't have to worry about that, for most of my sensible data are encrypted in the cloud. I let them see what I want.

Does your PC use a Microsoft account?

MS is able to browse user files, even if encrypted and reports undesirables to authorities.
It is preferable to encrypt files locally by yourself before uploading them to the cloud.
Also file names can be revealing, like an encrypted document HackedNASA.docx

That is exactly what I do using Boxcryptor or WinRar. Even better, things I consider highly important, i.e., bank or tax-related don't go to the cloud, nor do I use a password manager for those. I really want to sleep at night.

    Hi there

I'm 100% happy if people want to read most of my emails -- they would die of boredom in about 2 mins flat (assuming they could translate a load from Icelandic or even if they could they probably wouldn't have a clue on the topics being emailed about) -- and actually that might help in reducing overpopulation on the planet --population reduction and death by email boredom !!!!

Surely for Hollywood / Netflix there's got to be a TV series or a movie on that !!!!

Banks are usually OK as any fraudulent activity on your accounts (unless YOU are the perp !!) at least in EU / EEA you will get your money refunded -- in any case Banks and other e-commerce stuff can't really be considered as typical email using outlook etc. Hopefully you use proper secure dedicated platforms for that -- usually these are quite safe -- the breaches tend to occur when people are scammed into offering up their passwords / details to 3rd parties who run things like fake websites or get people to transfer money to what might seem legitimate accounts.

I've used e-commerce on amazon for years --never a problem with payments, security or goods delivery.

    Cheers

Using OneDrive, Hotmail/Outlook, O365 or any other MS service that require a Microsoft Account or any mail account (Google etc...) linked to that service?
