Don't shrug off images so easily.
Macrium images are very fast to take and restore. Macrium has a "Rapid Delta Restore" option that will restore only those parts of the system image that have changed. It is very fast. With today's image restoration technology there is no reason to use cloning, which is archaic in comparison.
BTW I have done hundreds of restores of Macrium images without an incident.

even using the Free version - restore from external SSD (USB3-->SATA) to internal SSD (256GB SSD) only takes around 9 mins on my system - I prefer for system backups / restores to always take full images - of course YMMV --- for data it's a different choice of course.

RDP is working fine on this release -- note though you can only use RDP as a client if on W10 Home. on Pro it works fine
you have to enable it though.

Second of all, also always check to see if it is enabled in WD Firewall. The reason is because in more than two occasions, I noticed it was unticked after a CU, when I knew for sure I didn't do it.

I have RDP working on three different PCs with Home and I can't tell the difference from Pro. After installing KB4471332 I could only connect from RDP, I could not conned to the ones running KB4471332.

Have you tried to see if File & Printer sharing is on. I had a similar problem very recently and that was the solution to my issue, i.e., enabling this feature.

That's why it is always advisable to have a good system image backup, nowadays. In your case, right now, I would probably go for a repair install and see what gives. You won't lose your data files, nor you installed apps. That should put you back on track:
