Did the "fail first, then it worked"-thing again. Anyone else?

No, this time no fail first for me. The last few CUs I have had that.

Probably because you now have the latest Service Stack Update already installed?

    Straightforward update process.

No problems encountered during installation via WU..

Shawn's continual W10 status updates bring me peace...

    Thanks!

Yes indeed. This CU uses the same Service Stack that went in with last week's CU.

First time in 4-5 CU events I didn't get the infamous message at reboot: "We couldn't install the Update. Undoing changes. Please, don't turn off your computer". I am really happy about it. I think that it had to do with my Display Adapter which was far behind and updated it before yesterday with the latest version via NVIDIA GeForce experience.

Now, the only problem I am still facing, has to do with that error: 6824 when running: dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup:

I think that I will give it a try in safe mode as @Ztruker mentioned in the other thread:
    Windows 10 October 2018 Update version 1809 Now Re-Released
at post #761. It seemed to have worked out for him.
