If past experience is anything to go by it will take several builds before it's fixed.
yes, you are correct. They are quick to mess things up but slow to correct their mistakes.

Wynona, I found the folder from my windows 10 17763 and copied the folder to this build. It installed in the 17763 version (Oct release) so I figured it would install on this. I start the install program and about half way through it, I get an error message saying this version of the hardware is not supported by this software. How about that. And the previous build and 17763 all have this same version on it. I don't think this is a problem of ours --- it is a Microsoft screw up. And BTW, the microphone doesn't work either, so video camera flags with message about no microphone.
Thanks, Magilla. So, basically, the hardware that worked on an older version (October Build 17763) of the audio/sound hardware, but the latest version (Build 18298) won't accept the hardware. So . . . in approximately two short months, Microsoft changed something that made our sound sound cards fail.

This is the first build in which this option no longer appears:

    At least in my case.

Considering that the processor is relatively new (I7 8750H) and the motherboard also (Asus GL703GE), there are not so many drivers for this.
The model page on Asus site is an amalgam of drivers many with same definition and same version number but with different size and initially I was forced to take them one by one, install them and see what works and what goes wrong and to be able to choose the ones that works ok. 5 month ago when I buy it, It takes me 2 days to make this laptop works and have all working drivers on it.

Now, on 18298, for chipset (Intel HM370 Cannon Lake H), tried also 3 drivers from Intel inclusive an Intel beta driver but unfortunatelly, nothing works.
Hmmm, you have a comparatively new Intel chipset and I have a comparatively old AMD chipset. What does that tell us?

I haven't found anything wrong with this Build yet!!!

Numerous glitches have disappeared including the lag in Explorer, and,

QTTabBar is not screwed up anymore! Workin fine!
    Hi there

    @Edwin

You obviously haven't tried running VMWare and trying to start a Virtual machine -- GSOD both on this release and the previous skippy (290).

Test it --you can get VMWare player for free -- just use the wizard to create ant VM (Virtual machine) - even if it's just booting a bootable version of Macrium Reflect -- and as soon as you attempt to power on the VM it GSOD's.

    Cheers

And I have a very, very old intel Centrino II. But it’s not the main CPU that’s the problem, it’s the driver for the sound devices that’s messed up. And I have three other computers that have different sound configurations and their sound works. So this is something to do with Microsoft programming.

I get that this installs a font onto your system. But how do you install a particular font as your default font system wide? Or can you make that change?

Thanks Brink! Hate to sound like a noob, but just never have thought about changing it, and wanted a quick answer. Thanks for providing one.
