Yep, Keith, they did have it corrected on the previous 2 builds. Those 2 went in with just 1 cycle of Getting Ready>Downloading>Installing. And they took about 35 minutes. This one? 5 cycles of bouncing-bouncy.1 hr, 10 mins. On Fast Ring. Used ISO on Skippy, and took 20 minutes soup to nuts. Ah! Such is progress!

This is my third build without bouncing like a monkey on a trampoline.

You got lucky. There must be some rhyme or reason to who gets treated nicely and who gets lumps of coal in their stocking. Beats me!

MS works in mysterious ways. When I got bounces it was always because some driver but installing from ISO made with same download worked every time.

downloaded and installed in 2hrs
now ready to reboot

now rebooted and so far everything working

A balance can be struck - each build should have some new features or else the Insider Programme just loses its point.

The Programme was instigated to help the development of Windows 10 not just so we can act as unpaid beta testers. I am not interested in that.

A good approach would be to permanently split the Fast Ring and Skip Ahead, and the Fast Ring focusses more on stability but Skip Ahead focusses on development.

Then after six months Skip Ahead moves onto Fast Ring for six months of stabilisation. This means we still get new features but on a rolling basis.

I sort of agree but I believe the Skip Ahead Ring should be removed so more attention can be placed on the next release, maybe the problems some had with 1809 could have been taken care of. Just my opinion.

I'm even not convinced they need so many test rings, one should be enough and when time comes to consider a new, regular build, that one could be added. Or maybe they have separate teams for each ring and each one releases own work.?

The First ring should be tested by MS Developers then sent out to like you said one ring or maybe a fast and Final Test Ring or Preview Ring. I also beleve that The Insiders should have their own Hub and not mis it up with millions of others.
