Due to slow internet (2Mbps) it took almost 3 hours but after I made ISO it took only 5 minutes to apply it.

    Pleased to hear that Keith

Since you mentioned UUPDownloader I just checked the site and there is a new alpha build 1.1.0 released. A big addition is a search box, it seriously helps finding the build you're after.

Yep. That's the build I used. Couldn't download the exe. Defender zapped it immediately but the archive was ok.

Where is the "wow" factor with this build?

The Zzzzz factor is far more appropriate.

There is nothing in this build to get remotely excited about.

You really get the impression MS have run out of ideas.

I know - how about tabs in File Explorer - lol.

It seems to me that Dell and HP machines have problems with bouncing.

Using Windows Update my Acer laptop took 35 minutes from start to finish. I'm very impressed the way Windows Update has progressed. It use to take hours to update. I'll do my desktop later.

I'm running it in a VBox VM on an HP machine.

Phew, I have escaped the bullet! My stuck system has jumped the failing 282 update and decided to try the 290. And it worked.

Don't really know what happened but this morning I wasn't hopeful as I thought it would keep trying the failing version and it did. Then I got on the search AGAIN and this time added the failing ntdll.dll component. Saw an answer to someone with a win 7 or 8 problem with this component and was told to re-register ntdll.dll plus a few others.

So I registered ntdll.ll with regsvr32 and then soon after I saw the update was downloading 290!!!

Not sure whether the register had anything to do with it but I am now a much happier Insider.

Hopefully back to my smooth ride with these updates.
glad to hear you are back on the 'program' again, Linw. I thought you might have problems since the last build never would install but you are back, and that is what counts.
