    Hello Edwin,

If you let it slide too long, Windows 10 will eventually no longer start. The top of the tutorial below can give you more details on all this though.

By the way the question was what a less advanced user might do/wonder, I know to reintall Windows current build, let it activate, then restart Insider builds....

Something on a side note, I have been tring all day to import the new system wide light theme from my Insider VM to my October update(1809) host.
I have tried everything, it doesn't work, so fellow themers, don't need to waste your time.

I exported/imported the reg settings registry settings, created a copy of the theme, also copy/pasted the files from AppData's Roaming and Local folders, all that and still ended up with the basic Aero theme when it comes to taskbar, start menu, icons, and notification center.

    Close but no cigar.

It won't affect retail keys. This is for when Insider builds expire to make sure you stay on an up to date Insider build.

    Hi folks
If you don't want to re-install just use the ISO for latest skippy from UUPDUMP or similar, and you can update to the latest build. (expiry 5 July 2019).

    Cheers

I don't use that UUPDUMPXYZLGHSFHJ stuff.
That's why you don't see too many posts from me in the Insider build forums'(I might post then unsub after a couple of days when it gets too much), there is too much about create your own ISO, download one here and so on, This VM has existed almost as long as the Insider program, it has been carried over from two previous PCs I have owned.

If MS sorted WU then there wouldn't be such a need for ISOs.

    Hi folks
I remember a colleague of mine when I was visiting London recently who after a bit of a lunchtime Liquid refreshment !!! was looking for some "public facilities" -- not finding anywhere (can't believe London as a major world city doesn't have many of those "public facilities" ) just quoted the time olden saying "When Needs Must" -- and you can probably guess the rest.

That's what I feel about all those UUPDUMP etc type of sites -- I have though absolutely no problem with them and it saves me from having to sign up to all those Insider conditions etc.

I don't like giving out details to large corporations

just look at what happened at Mariott hotel owners with data hacking of maybe 500 million accounts !!!

Marriott hack hits 500 million Starwood guests - BBC News

so I'm quite happy to use UUPDUMP and similar. (And please London Tourist bureau - provide somewhere where people can relieve themselves after a decent lunchtime session -- nothing wrong with those pubs - maybe a bit expensive but great atmosphere -- it's about 20 mins after you leave that the problem starts !!!)

    Cheers
