New Windows 10 Insider Preview Fast + Skip Build 18282 (19H1) -Nov. 14 Insider

Hi folks

Already found 1 major defect and 2 irritants.

Defect -- VMWARE WKS you can't start a VM -- . Update - re-install fixes it.



Irritants :

1) File explorer -- map network drive now has to be done from Network in file explore and then you browse to the HDD you need. Old way was you had against network drives right mouse click context -->map network drive.

2) Standard Background is now Bonkersly TOO bright (almost sky blue) instead of the rather more subdued blue of previous versions.

I'll have a go re-installing VMWARE workststion to see if that fixes it -- I really need VMWARE though. If that doesn't work I'll have to trash this build.


Update -- uninstall and re-install vmware

Working properly.

on this build vmware workstation Bridged networking (equiv to External switch on HYPER-V) doesn't work -- NAT (internal switch) does but I need Bridged.

If you are on this build can you test a VM with HYPER-V and external switch.

External switches screw up my download speeds. I only use the default switch now.

Yes. Absolutely no issues.

I had the same bug since 1803, but a few Insider builds ago my external switches started to work again. I just downloaded Windows 10 ISO from Microsoft to test the DL speed and get a screenshot. Although I am not getting full 100 Mbps speed, it's coming fast enough to show that external switch is not causing any issues:



The same with networking. When using an external switch I have no more issues in using network resources, communicating between a Hyper-V host and virtual machines on same or another host or between virtual machines.

Why are you still using use once plastic media, USB is a much faster way to install.

A recent comment I made in another thread reminded me that in the latests insiders builds I have noticed that the white flash problem has worsened in the file explorer:
