I am surprised that you guys are having so much trouble with this tool [uupdownloader], have been using it since the beginning and never had any of the problems mentioned here.
I do not use Defender so, I can't say anything about it but, I have Eset Nod32 Antivirus and Malwarebytes and when running it (just now) there was no complaining about security reason at all.
I downloaded BETA 3 in 1809 without any noise from Defender. In 18892 I get a virus warning.
Glad you have had good result from this. Many of us have had variable results—sometime it works and sometime not. I was able to make an .iso from my original post, MWB first said Malware, 2nd scan exposed Trojen.Emotet.Generic (Trojan.Emotet is Malwarebytes’ detection name for a banking Trojan that can steal data, such as user credentials stored on the browser, by eavesdropping on network traffic.)
Multiple scans since reveals nothing. MWB must have also erased the D/L file for beta.3 because it is not showing on any search. I have since deleted the .iso any everything connected to it. I am not about to try it again.
The guy behind this tool it is a reputable person, he has been developing such tools for quite while.
The problem that many are experiencing I think it is related to his code modification to have a nice GUI, and the mix such as CMD, PHP and AutoKey code and I guess we all know AutoKey code has been always a problem under windows.
Don't you guys remember that when Kari packed UUPtoISO into an exe file there was a lot of false positive?
We know then for sure that there wasn't any problem with the code, it was just windows being windows.
Well... This is my thinking!
I don't like light themes at all, but I am impressed by the consistency of the newly implemented light theme, before, when the light theme was chosen, there was a mixture of dark and light context menus, now, when choosing the light theme, everything is white, including the file explorer and applications.
Of course there are bugs since they just implemented it, but, as it says in the flight notes, all that will improve.
I’m sure the developer behind the uupdump tool is reputable and continues to fine tune the code. What I said to @LEOPEVA64 is what we need is some kind of tutorial like Kari did for uup to iso so we can follow all the steps needed. I have never been able to install the current uupdump on any of my 5 computers that run win 10 pro. Just running from website when I can get it to run. In its initial iteration @kari had a tut for uupdump that pointed to a specific download of files and folders from which that program was run.

only thing is..., this time around, Firefox will only play to the USB set, whereas everything else plays to both; always has, til now!

This doesn't need install (if I understood you well) just place it in a folder on C:\ Drive and run it, choose your build and press OK, choose your language / edition, choose a folder (if you want a different one), if you want check save UUPs and or Skip UUP to ISO conversion and you're good to go.
Everything else, depending on what you chose it will be automatically, it is like you enter your kitchen with flour and come out of it with the bread.
