Cumulative Update KB4467702 Windows 10 v1803 Build 17134.407 - Nov. 13 Win Update

Update to 1809 is good. After the update I must to reinstall driver for usb wifi

I updated to this patch today,

Microsoft security centre started throwing fits, it told me I had no anti virus or firewall (via action centre) this despite Kaspersky telling me everything was fine.

Another problem is that the Windows Defender notification icon no longer shows on the taskbar, so i checked which icons are set to appear, it was set to off, but even after turning it on it would not re-appear.

I really wish Microsoft would get their shit sorted !
Sadly these updates really are a lottery.

Installed v.1809 on my laptop (not my main computer) and I found one thing... It whacks my ethernet connection. On boot, there's a strike mark through the tray icon and there's no internet. The solution I found is to go to device manager and uninstall my ethernet device and then "scan for hardware changes". The device and drivers come back and so does my ethernet connection. But to have to do this on every boot....????? Weird.

Happened again after a system restart. Windows Defender takes over and boots Bitdefender out of Security Center. I can't keep reinstalling Bitdefender to fix this. Ended up disabling Windows Defender in Security Center and then disabling Windows Defender notification icon in Task Manager. Meanwhile, Bitdefender continues to provide real time protection outside of Security Center. At this point, I don't even care if Microsoft fixes this.

Interesting:

First, your ability to set up default programs is stripped down "by accident", now third party AV's are practically kicked out from their integration with Defender...

I see a pattern here. And I wanna bet they will delay the fix for this and de default program settings as much as they can.

It's pretty funny how this features are impacted and not nothing else, like Office or... native apps? :V

I think some on this thread are getting confused with the feature update (1809) and the security (cumulative) update to 1803.
I'm talking about the cumulative update to 1803.

Is there a new cumulative update for 1803?

My hide and show tool is showing cumulative update KB4023057 available.

Only thing I can really report from 1803 land is that I got KB4023057 on both of my 1803s. You can Google that KB. But I think it doubles as the "get you eventually to 1809" prepper. Small file (under 1mb) that installed quickly without any hassles to get there.

So if this how they're getting 1809 ready then hopefully things go smoothly with that.

I uninstalled the KB4467702 CU to see if it fixes the Security Center glitch; it didn't. WDSC still acts up after a system restart and the uninstall ended up corrupting the Windows Update database somehow taking me back to build 17134.1. The Windows Update troubleshooter couldn't help and I managed to fix it with SFC and DISM. I'm back on 17134.407 but this is all I see in Update History



I've had a sneaky suspicion for a while that Microsoft has lost control over Windows code. When you integrate everything from OneDrive(, Cortana, Windows Defender, Edge, and Bing) to the kitchen sink into the OS, you have to be extremely careful when making code changes or you end up breaking something somewhere. I'm in full agreement with the author of the below opinion piece
