Also, I officially hate the new Snip & Sketch - who uses PNG files anyhow?

I do, for all images I post here. Don't like seeing jpeg's compression artefacts, particularly on text....

...so I used "Open with" from the goat droppings menu (. . .)
    'goat droppings' - nice one!

Hmmm. I see .jpg and GIF as options to save under using Snip and Sketch. Thing is... I'm sure it didn't use to.

You are not mistaken. Snip & Sketch is a Windows App, and like the other apps (Calculator, Photos, etc. and the Store itself) gets regular updates through the Store. As initially installed Snip & Sketch is very basic, at version 10.1807.2286.0.

    Cumulative Update KB4467708 Windows 10 v1809 Build 17763.134 - Nov. 13-snip-sketch-save-png-only.png

If your Store is set to automatically update apps, you would very shortly have been updated to 10.0.1809.2964.0.

If you have turned off 'Update apps automatically' in the Store then you can open the Store and go to 'Downloads and updates' to update manually, as I have just done. The Store updates are not shown in Update history, rather they are recorded in the Reliability History.

I do like how snip & sketch can span across multiple open windows.

    True, but read Kari's blog.

Kari's blog is blunt and well written. The Insider Program has most definitely deteriorated and I'm afraid it does date from the time that D.S. took over the reins. But I'm sure the higher up knew what they were getting so even if Insider's could in some way effect hiring deceisions I don't think it would make much of difference. It is the insittuation and continuaation of the "mushroom theory" of management that most bothers me.

@Bree thanks, I guess it must have updated pretty quickly after I installed the re-released1809. First time around (1809 initial release) and it didn't seem to.

It also looks like I'm still stuck with a Reliability Index of 1 (LOL) just as before. Same reason of some content process in Edge not responding. No discernible issues in use.

I've got KB4467708 installed twice on my system for whatever reason. The second one from the top has (4) behind it and then the very top one has nothing behind it. Should I leave it alone or would you recommend doing something else.
At the et go, this update kept repeating to do the update. I uninstalled it, reinstalled it manually and though it is working well at this point, I am still wondering the way it's listed in my update history, if that is normal. Please advise.

Most of us have two entries in history for that KB. The first is a failure to install.

If you are a lucky Insider, latest version now has Windows Snip as well. AFAIK all the old snipping tools features are now in S&S.

Although the gui is a bit yucky, it is now better than snipping tool overall now.
