That would make insiders Gama testers.

media creation tool now been updated and downloads 17763.253

Download Windows 10 ISO File | Tutorials

    Attachment 221283
The ESD downloads are definitely updated to build 17763.253 (KB4480116) as I read in the MDL forums.
ISO downloads from MS Techbench remain 17763.107. ISO images for MSDN & Visual Studio subscribers, on the other hand, are updated to build 17763.253 (also mentioned in MDL forums)

    Build 17763.253 (Jan. 2019 CU) is basically a RE-RE-released version of 1809, hee-hee!

    Unable to Configure

I did a search but found nothing. I can't get my system to upgrade to 1809. Regular Windows Update will not select my system. Recently... I have twice used the manual Windows Upgrade tool with no success on two occasions... 2 weeks apart.

At about the 43% mark the install stops with a cryptic dialog box that says "UNABLE TO CONFIGURE CERTAIN DEVICES. CORRECT THE PROBLEM AND TRY AGAIN" I would try to fix something but no device is called out. Has anyone dealt with this problem?? I build my own systems using ASUS MBs. 1803 installed without a hitch on the same system.

    Thanks for any help

    Hi,

I see you have two? SSD's and one HDD. IIRC somewhere back in this thread there is discussion about where the OS is located if you have SSD's and HDD together on a system, you might have to disconnect all drives except the one that has the OS and boot on it then try the update assistant.

Like I mentioned, if I recall correctly; You'd have to try a look for it, a search of the forum with terms 1809, SSD, HDD might yield it.

btw, thanks for filling out your system specs.

    Anak,

    Thanks for the reply.

Actually the drive setup is just the opposite. The OS is the C: drive and is an SSD. The D: & E: drives are Western Digital HDDs. That's a pretty normal config. I can try your idea of powering down the D: and E: drives and trying it again.

Does anyone know where... in what log file... I can find what device could not be configured.

Check Disk management, if there's no active or system partitions on those HDDs, they can't possibly interfere.

    .
Having had problems with my HDD data drives being turned to "RAW" during an update, I simply remove the SATA connectors (powered off) before I do a update. Essentially only the C: is connected. I have configured my HDDs opposite of normal so that the plugs are easily accessible from the side panel.
