That is normal.... Check for updates does not necessarily bring 1809... lots of comments in this thread about that.

Did you make USB thumbdrive with MCT? You could run setup to FORCE the upgrade. MS does not recommend you force.

Or he (@tinmar49) can make a system image backup first and use:

That is how I did this update which was quick and simple. The last two major updates I've done this way not wanting to clean install but I think that I will do a clean install for 19H1 in April as it's been awhile since I've started from scratch.

I'm now on 10.0.17763.288. I've *NEVER* activated the Windows Insider Program, so why on earth am I on this build? :/

Not complaining... but something fishy going on here.
That should only go to you if you are in the Release Preview ring. Check Windows Insider Program off of Windows Update, see what it's set to, even though you never joined. Something definitely wonky going on.

This is more common than you might think!
I have an old Dell Inspiron 1520 which was still on 1803 (OS Build 17134.386) 32Bit.

I decided to manually Install 1809 from the ISO which I did and let all CUs associated with the update run.

These included KB4476976 Windows 10 v1809 RP Build 17763.288. Obviously this is for the RP wing but Windows Insider Programme is definitely NOT enabled nor has ever been enabled on this PC.

    So I did the following::

Restarted - Winver 1809 (OS Build 17763.288) (RP Build)

MANUAL check for updates, "You're up to date"
    UNinstalled KB4476976
    Restarted - Winver 1809 (OS Build 17763.107)
MANUAL check for updates CU KB4480116 offered - downloaded and installed - restart requested
    Restarted - Winver 1809 (OS Build 17763.253)
MANUAL check for updates, "You're up to date"

So all is now good, but WHY did it install that RP update in the first place.......another "Muppetsoft Mystery" brought to you by the truth fairies of Redmond

Maybe some configurations in your system are still preventing MS from upgrading your current version. The only surefire way to know is to do it yourself and see what gives. Very important, before you do, make sure to have a system image backup in case something is not working to your liking. You can always roll back to a previous state.

The solution to your problem is in post #1131.

It's a game of waiting. That or Image machine with your favorite imaging tool and manually update.

I still have one machine in the house that has not updated on it's own.

Good!. Now is the time to use your computer as usual and see if you have any drawbacks. Here is hoping that everything goes really smooth for you.
