A very Merry Christmas to all members, Admins and staff of TenForums!!!

And for the "seekers", before checking for Windows Update, run the Windows Update Show Hide tool, which checks for available updates and hide the ones you don't want and then run Windows Update, safely.

    All the best to everybody!!!!

Not technically. WU on your computer periodically polls MS for updates. MS makes them available for WU to download and install.. Like I said, it can seem like a 'push', but technically it is not, and I'd like to see the term retain clarity. There's enough fuzziness and obfuscation as it is.
How do you figure that they are not being pushed. When I do not manually check for updates but updates are automatically downloaded and installed or waiting for a restart to me that's being pushed.

They are being pulled, by Wu on your machine. It's semantics, that's all. In computer science 'push' means something specific. Don't worry about it - Merry Christmas!
