Any news on when 1809 will be pushed via WU for my 1803?
MS said it will be a phased rollout and that when you get to see it through WU it will depend on what machine you have and what their telemetry tells them about those machines.

As with prior Windows 10 feature rollouts, our goal is to deliver the October 2018 Update in a phased and controlled rollout to provide a great update experience for all. We are beginning the global rollout out via Windows Update in the coming weeks. As with previous rollouts, we will use real-time feedback and telemetry to update your device when data shows your device is ready and will have a great experience.
How to get the Windows 10 October 2018 Update - Windows 10 Forums

I have two 1803 machines, an older Samsung (my System Two below) and a 2014 Dell latitude. AFAIK neither have any of the known blocking issues. The Samsung test machine I have left running 24/7 just to test this question, and the Dell is in regular use. Nether of them (yet) have seen the 'Features update to Windows 10, version 1809' in WU, either by the automatic check or the 'Check for updates' button (last tested a minute ago). I'll be posting here if/when that changes.

I've been "checking for updates" sometimes two and three times a day. All I can say is WD stays well updated!

I had to unblock most of the Telemetry to enhance my chances of getting it by WU - but only on one system!

Your chances seem to depend on what Microsoft's machine learning tells them about the experience on other machines like yours. Your telemetry is probably not in the equation, except perhaps for Basic telemetry to identify your make/model.

Got Windows 10 1809 version .167 on an HP All-In-One 4GB Ram, 1TB HD Intel 620 graphics as my main OS. So far, all of the versions I have installed have been stable. Wish they would get the problems solved and just decide on a version. Yes, I know. Just that nobody talks about their systems working.
    Welcome to TenForums, Bobby!

I didn't have any problems either, but I didn't make any changes to my file location either.

What is strange, though, I added a "Data Drive" and save everything there. For some odd reason, it now comes up as the default for saving files, although I never told Windows to do that.

Bree, I would just like Microsoft to get 1809 stable!

Just received a new HP business box for a client and it had 1809 already preinstalled.
I'll deploy it on a large network and see what happens.

Yet for my 1803 systems, nothing.

Something very amiss here. Probably with the update process from 1803 -> 1809.

Putting 1809 on a business box is a 'courageous decision'* on HP's part, seeing as it's not yet regarded by MS as ready for business use. MS have only released it to the Semi-Annual Channel (Targeted) at present.
Yet for my 1803 systems, nothing.
I have not yet seen anyone report it being delivered by windows update's automatic check. I don't think MS have started the rollout properly yet. And when they do, I expect they'll be very slow in their phased approach.

Yet none of my machines had any problem with an upgrade via the ISO.

Mapped drives issue now resolved. See "Current Status" table on first post for more details.

Date Current Status Affected Platforms Details
    December 5, 2018 3:00 PM PT Resolved
    • Windows 10, version 1809
    • Windows Server 2019
    • Windows Server, version 1809
Mapped drives may fail to reconnect after starting and logging onto a Windows device.

    Symptoms include:

    • In File Explorer, a red "X" appears on the mapped network drives.
    • Mapped network drives show as "Unavailable" when you run the net usecommand from a command prompt.
    • In the notification area, a notification displays, "Could not reconnect all network drives."

Resolved: KB4469342 addresses the issue that may cause mapped drives to fail to reconnect after starting and logging onto a Windows device. This supersedes KB4471218 for workaround scripts to automatically reconnect a mapped network drive when you log on to the device.

I'm still on .134 and checking for updates tells me I'm up to date.

    This is getting rather stupid.
