So for us who already are on 1809 don't need to do anything weird? No reinstall, repair or banana peels? Only the monthly CU?

and according to that support article people should wait until it is offered to your machine. I assume that is the full 1809 upgrade and not the CU for those all ready using.

    That ain't no fun.
It hit me in WU at 1300

Josey weren't you on 1809 so it was just the CU you got.

Or did it download the full upgrade from 1803 to 1809

My little Probook is still looking. Can't imagine how many systems are hammering on the MS servers.

    Interesting...

"After a delay of more than five weeks, Microsoft has resumed the rollout of the Windows 10 October 2018 Update. The company also promised sweeping changes in the way it approaches quality issues, including better communication with customers."

I'll wait a bit after what I had to deal with.
So far it's just talk. Good talk.

Time to image all my systems...

For some reason whenever I try to create a usb direct from the media creation tool it always fails. I end up downloading the iso and using rufus to create the usb.
The reason is most probably that you've used Rufus on that USB before and it has left it with a gpt partition. This will always fail with error code 0x80004005 - 0xA001A. The MCT expects all USBs to have an mbr partion.
