If I remember correctly .53 and .86 are very similar and that .86 is a fixed .53 for those who had issues with .53.

I could be totally out sailing here though...

Try this using Administrative Command Prompt:

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Check that all went through without a hitch.

Then run this in Administrative Command Prompt:

Code:

SFC /scannow

If all is well, then do this:

Run services.msc by pressing WIN + R and typing in the command
Set WindowsUpdate service startup type to Disabled
Reboot Computer
Go to C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Downloads and delete everything in there
Change WindowsUpdate StartupType to Enabled again
Reboot Computer
When computer reboots, go straight to Windows Defender Controlpanel and disable AV completely (AV can interfere with WU)
Next go to WindowsUpdate and try update again.

Report back once you've done all the above task in order.

I did all of the items mentioned.
All were processed without error.
No luck I'm afriad.
I still am unable to update to 1809.
Here is the rejection message.

Hi Midgo,

I haven't looked back but are you trying to update with those other 7 drives connected? If so disconnect all of them and try with just the SSD system drive connected.

@midgo I think you said you can't do a reset, a couple of pages back.

Sounds like you have a bigger issue than an update won't process.

I would try an Inplace repair. Do you have 1803 boot media to use?
