Current Status of Windows 10 October 2018 Update version 1809

I had a similar issue in post #1645 of this thread but from a different cause. I hope you have a recent system image backup to roll back to. You could have rolled back the driver to the previous one in Device Manager, but as you have indicated you cannot even get access to the sound card and its properties.

If you don't have a system image backup, you can try a repair install (aka in-place upgrade) where you can still keep your installed apps and data files or a Refresh of Win 10 where you still can keep your data files, but will have to reinstall all your apps.

After fixing the issue, it would be definitely wise to prevent Windows from installing drivers again in the future:

Rolled back the drivers, Creative are clueless when it comes to drivers. Maybe the driver works correctly in 1903, but not in 1809

Does that mean you are going to wait for 19H1? . I really don't get it. Another thing I forgot to mention is Drivers backups; if you happen to have one of those, you can try to import, but then again you seem not to be able to get access to the sound card in Device Manager.

Two things I always make sure to have available: Drivers backup (at least once a month or every two months) and Full system image backup (every other day by using differential; I am not really a fan of incremental). They are another layer of protection on top of your A-V app .

No, will wait for 1903, ands see if the new drivers work, for now I will stay on 1809, with the drivers I have that work.

the Semi-annual channel options are only available in Win10 Pro, Education or Enterprise - not in Home
