Yes, Outlook mail does that annoying safe link security proxy/check, which sometimes makes the mail links very slow to open and sometimes even unusable until you remove the extra stuff.
You also may be right, because sometimes I have to click twice or three times on the link sent by tenforums before it finally worked and opened in Edge, which is my default browser.

I receive CodeProject newsletters to my Outlook account, and it's faster for me to open up a new browser window, navigate to CodeProject and search the article I'm interested in rather than clicking on the provided link in the e-mail.

Never heard about CodeProject . Is it really worth it, because I can see it as a bit of a convoluted way of doing things.

I think I am having a similar problem. I received a notification in my inbox that @tats25 has posted at 2:35 A.M for this thread, but his post is nowhere to be seen.
I use gmail and every once in a great while I get one of these from 10F and I experienced the same behavior when over at 7F and I always chalked it up to a post that's been deleted or retracted.

All my links in the notifications are like your last one, short and to the point, there's never been any of that proxy stuff.

    @Anak

    Steve

There is a [Noparse] BBcode that you can use to display inline links and other BBcode that would be picked up converted to links etc by the forum software.

Just use a pair surrounding any link the second one with the usual / to show it as a close

As an aside, you can put [NOPARSE] ..whatever...[/NOPARSE] to stop parsing. It is this icon on top RHS when you reply :

Current Status of Windows 10 October 2018 Update version 1809-screen-shot-2019-03-14-19.48.23.png

    For example :

    rather than :

EDIT - ninja'd again! Am too slow :)

On a side note....how's it going with the 1809 upgrade results? Just curious.

Glad you mentioned that once in a great while you are facing the same issue (ditto, here). I really don't see why my mail provider or ISP would be proxying my links, except for the reasons mentioned in my post #1529. I am going to let it be for now, since everything seems to be working normally as of this writing.

From what I can feel it's on a par with 1803 for me. The only thing I notice is that it takes a little longer to start-up in the morning 5-6sec. before it gets to the sign-in but I've been following your tip to let it warm up the next morning after I shut it down for the night and it looks like that's helping, it was up to 10sec. or so.

Btw, I'm up to 17763.379 as I picked up a flash update for Edge and a cumulative kb4489899, they D/L'd and installed while I was online this morning and I didn't know anything about it until I was about to let it go to sleep when I saw a note pop-up about a restart, I clicked go ahead and a minute later that was finished.
I've just now noticed that switching between the different settings pages for the ver. and kb#'s is a heck of a lot faster, that's nice, update history pops up now like a jack-in-the-box where 1803's took a few seconds to populate.

Let me clarify; When I said once in a great while this is the first time since I've joined 10F that it's happened and that's since 2015 on 7F IIRC it happened maybe once a year.

I wouldn't know why outlook would be adding a proxy, just for S an Grin's I tried https://name01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/ and it came back server not found, most of the time a proxy acts as a firewall and web filter doesn't it?

According to this, but it's outlook for a mac: I can't send or receive messages with my email account It sounds like you didn't have a network connection but your outlook email program still tried to send it through safelinks, but don't quote me on that as networking isn't in my pay grade.

Case in point, you said you were able to connect to the thread but tats25 was nowhere to be found.
