Current Status of Windows 10 October 2018 Update version 1809

I just ran Firefox using a VNC connection for visuals on Ubuntu which runs in Termux (Terminal emulator on Androud) on my Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and to my surprise it's really fast. The whole Ubuntu desktop experience it's quite impressive even on my phone.

I'm starting to see why people think Windows is slow and bloated. Windows on my laptops is certainly NOT as snappy as this experiment.

Remember when that jerk decided MS no longer needed beta testers and "fired" all outside testers back a few years ago? He's a goner and we now have the Insider Program. Sometimes Microsoft do learn its lesson . . .

Only the part they have chosen so far. 1809 proves they learned little from any of Win 10 versions back through 8.0, Vista,etc. With every CU/feature update I lose my networking and have to reset it at the absolute minimum. Turned off WAU service for a while to stop the force feeding of unwanted CU's that even a metered connection would not stop. And then there are the driver issues! I long for simpler days like XP Pro. My 3 year old laptop just got the 1809 update and it failed. Downloaded it last night from UUPDump and will clean install after the usual image backup. The older desktop is farther than the MS list..... and so it goes. Imagine how bad this could really be if not for the insider program!!! Thanks for what you do for us "users"!

They would have to test on hundreds if not thousands of computer configurations to have anything like insider base.
