OK, forget it. This UUPDump site performs a valuable service. You pick your version, it sends you a script that downloads the collection of esds and makes an iso. You make an iso from the esd's because you can't download a wim. That's how they are able to provide it - it's a uup dump, as it were. It works, it's fine, and if it's good enough for Kari, it's good enough for me.

New strange bugs for me with the new KB...553 and KB...887, I reported it in the Win 10 Feedback-App.

If both these updates are installed at the same time, the following problems appear on MSI GE60 0ND/0NC notebook:
1. the notebook fan(s) spin to a high RPM shortly, then slowing down over a ~12 second-period and then suddenly going high again
2. the screen brightness level will stay at lowest level, user will be unable to increase brightness.

only uninstalling both these updates fixed both problems again.

specifications: Windows 10 Home 1809 x64, i5-3230M CPU, GTX 660M graphics.

UUPDump says the Pro edition is a 2.8 GB download.

The zip file is script used to download the ESD's and convert I believe.

Imageburn would create the ISO in 5 minutes or so.

It is the conversion to WIM that takes so long. A command prompt string will convert to WIM but might take 30 minutes depending on your processor.

My issue is download size with my data cap. Thought maybe this site was the answer but....

I have been unable to task schedule the downloads during my freezone 3am-6am on my laptop, currently on Home edition but will upgrade to pro to get gpedit. I have Pro on my desktop unit.

I plan on doing clean installs on both machines after complete new backups.

I download all editions of each new version for my archives and create bootable flash drives with Rufus. Those downloads are just over 4GB.

UUPDUMP is a great resource though. I read on another site that the updates since the release of 1809 are each downloaded with the UUPDUMP download and applied on our end. I had hoped they were already applied but at least it is not another download!

I lost my registry on a patch Tuesday during the 8.0 debacle when WU installed 23 new updates. It was backed up but was a PIA to figure out. I ran a PSA and some command prompts to see that the HDD was working with normal partitions but that Windows was not loading. Above my pay grade so my tech repaired it.

I would like to express my appreciation to MS for giving us Dark Mode for Explorer FINALLY! What a relief not having to have my retinas burned by that glaring white screen . Also thanks for the additional background colors available now for OneNote. I set mine at an almost-black gray, with dark tan font color. Heaven!
