Gonna leave the PC powered on tonight and tomorrow and see if anything happens.
I made the mistake of clicking "check for updates" last night abd it found the 1809 update...
Failed to install 3 times this morning with the "corrupt file" error code... so I deleted the contents of the Software Distribution Download folder and tried again... this time it did install..
AND more of a surprise to me it seems to have gone OK... Well I cannot see anything not working as yet...
On my wife's Asus laptop, i5 running Home, we regularly check for updates, nothing. I'm content to leave as is until WU is happy.
Start Command Prompt as Administrator (Right-click on Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator).
Then run this command:
Code:RD /S /Q %SystemDrive%\Windows.oldIf that did not work, then let me know. You might have files or folders with only DOS (8.3 length) names. This is a bit more involved, but is solvable.
