    Run it and if you like just tell me what you think, to improve it.
    Will do and I will probably go for Option-2, but I have already "Set-MpPreference -SignatureUpdateInterval 4" and it is not even 2 hours ago. I would like to check this before (say within 2 more hours) and see if it works. Then, I will definitely try Option-2 and post back.

    @ddelo,

    It has come to mind that I can save your latest reference with 2 options as "Get-WDUpdates.ps1" on the Desktop and run in one fell swoop from PowerShell. Am I correct in my thinking?

    You need to alter the script to separate the two options and create one for each option.
    The way it is right now, if you haven't cleared your event logs, you will always be getting option 2, which contains the UWP apps updates, which are not included in Windows Update database.

    If you give me a couple of minutes, I'll upload them, for you.

    So I was correct in my thinking from the beginning about separating the two options. For some reason, (post #1291), I said, maybe I can run both options in one fell swoop, which brought me to ask you whether or not I was correct to do it that way.

    @IronZorg89

    Here you are. All 3 of them:

    Original script, which gets updates from both Microsoft Update list and Event logs, compares them and outputs the most complete list. (If event logs have not been cleared the list from event logs will always be the one presented, as it contains the updates to the UWP apps, which are not included in Microsoft Update)
    Get-InstalledUpdates.ps1

    Option 1, which gets updates from the Microsoft Update list only. Get-MUInstalledUpdates.ps1
    Option 2, which gets updates from the Windows Event logs, only. Get-EVTInstalledUpdates.ps1

    Tom, if you set it to 2 hours, it is 2 hours
    Yes you did, I saw it in your image
    Ok so it's not working through the metered connection.

    I'm going to set powershell back to:

    Code:
     Set-MpPreference -SignatureScheduleDay 8

    and defender will update at 9PM/9AM via task scheduler. Thanks.

    You can, but it doesn't hurt to leave it to 0, for the time you stop the metered connection.
    Too bad it doesn't work. Sorry for the trouble, Tom

    You don't have to thank me and it's never a bother. If it was I wouldn't be here....but as you see I am!

    Ok I'll set it to that. That's ok.. at least we know it doesn't work. And I have the tasks so that's good. Plus I learned some powershell things. Thanks!
