Thanks for the advice and pointers. The system that I am having this problems with is my main Windows system. I can't mess with it during the weekdays. I will have to try all these good ideas over the weekend. I will report back with success of failure.

No need to hurry. Take your time and do it right. Remember, the very first thing to do before even starting with the instructions in the quick fixes is a full system image backup just in case things go awry. This way, you can always roll back. I am really looking forward to seeing how things turn out after you finish.

Almost February and still no auto update of 1809. Maybe that's a good thing. I can't recall any necessary features in it.

I have some clients that have auto updated.

I just installed these updates and they didn't take very long at all... Maybe around 5-8minutes? Usually the Windows 10 updates take about 30 minutes as I'm using a regular HDD and not an SSD.

Is this normal for such a huge update?

Okay this is a bit weird.

I just did an update check and now Windows 10 says it's downloading a "Feature update version 1809" even though I thought I just installed this???

Can you go back to your update history and see if this explains what was installed?

    Your reply is much appreciated!

I just checked and you're right... "Feature update to Windows 10 1809" was attempted in the past, but it failed.

I was about to do my usual routine of:
    1. Restart Windows 10
    2. Shutdown Windows 10
    3. Restart Windows 10 one last time and then begin using as normal.

    Thank you!
