I have manually upgraded four quite different machines to 1809 with no issues. They range from an old Acer One netbook with an Intel Atom N2600, through the two systems in my specs, up to an i7 Dell Latitude.

It is always 'safest' to wait in case there are any hardware-specific issues. But as long as you start off by making a Macrium image before you try the upgrade I would go for it...
Thanks Bree - I was just tidying the C Drive ready to do a Macrium image anyway, tomorrow - once I've done that, nothing to lose I guess. And I've got time to undo it if it all goes horribly wrong.
I know it's in here somewhere but have you the link handy to the "official" 1809 download site please?

Thank you Ken - I was rather looking for JUST the ISO file to drop onto the machine in question.
I didn't actually want to create media.

My plan was to let Windows mount the ISO and then run the Install. (That way I've got it ready for others as well)

OR.....can I do that with the Media Creation tool on another PC, then copy it over - I used to know but I've forgotten, sorry

Media Creation tool can also make an ISO, doesn't have to be just on removable media. I made an ISO like that it just has a plain name "Windows.iso".

Lol, obvious things are usually most difficult to spot, ever heard of "Hiding in plain sight" ?

    Your 'umble servant Sir!
It's downloading now ready for the morning....I assume that it's the same ISO for X64Bit Pro and Home, as that question wasn't asked?

Only difference between Home and Pro is license code. If you choose "Upgrade this PC now" it upgrade for whatever edition you have installed.

Thanks again Mike - I thought that was the case but as above, I'm making a few mistakes tonight. With this ISO, i can do all my 64Bit PCs, Pro and Home IF I choose to - saves downloading again which is my aim.

Yes, that's my normal practice - download once, use many times. In my case I make the x86+x64 ISO as I have both types of install to upgrade. BTW, you can easily make a bootable USB from the ISO should you ever need one. Just format the USB as Fat32, mark the partition as Active (needed for Legacy boot) then mount the ISO and copy everything to the USB.
