Like an update "broom wagon". Microsoft does not test upgrading from anything older than the last current build.

As has been said repeatedly, users wish to retain control of their devices. There may be good reasons why they are postponing updates or have been unable to complete a previous update successfully.

Some will use this as a mechanism to AVOID updates.

There are too many upgrade cycles and too many concurrent service baselines as a result.

It's an absolute *expletive deleted* shit-show. I make no apologies for the description.

Now that any semblance of quality control is out of the window, I really do feel like jumping ship for the first time. OS as a service blows chunks. It should just do it's job. If it can't I will have to look for something that will.

Aaaahhh....I don't think I can. Not sure if just venting is enough any more
You can always just dump Windows Everything and go to Mac or Linux. Option is always there. It may relieve your venting and frustration.

I do have a balance sheet. It's pretty close between Pros and Cons. Windows has support for various tools that I am unable to replace or find and alternative on Linux. Believe me when the time comes, I will find an alternative. I just wish daily existence wasn't so painful.

    Linux is no panacea.

I dual-boot Windows and Linux, that way when I get really angry at one, I can switch to the other.

It turns out the 1809 update can be blocked for now, if you have certain hardware and software configurations.

Look! Windows 10 version 1809 has even more issues
Look, we also have the official MS support page https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...update-history

Please leave that to the admins. I did self-censor and everyone on here should be 13 or over, common slang terms for bodily functions are not so heinous.

Microsoft's work leaves a foul-smelling mess for everyone encoutering it, I think it's pretty apt. No-one *wants* to step in it, but we've got to get from A to B.

If I have *geniunely* offended you, I am sorry. But I'm not saying what for.

Everyone? Really? First off many of us like Win 10 and don't have any issues using it. Second,, speak for yourself. Making blanket generalization is uncalled for, IMO.

Lastly,, if you have that many issues with both MS and Win 10 get an other OS. No one is forcing you to use it and there are other options available.
